With almost three years officially under the 1997 name and 14 years of wider industry experience, the team supports events of all sizes, from corporate functions and conferences to festivals, live music, product launches, exhibitions and touring shows.
The company provides a complete range of event production services, including planning, operations, stage hire, lighting, sound, audio visual hire, set and branding, technical crew and event infrastructure.

I’m Tom Ofield, and I run 1997 Events Management & Production Services under 1997 Group Limited.
Although 1997 Events has been officially established for almost three years, I have been working in the events industry for around 14 years under different company names. Over that time, I’ve gained hands-on experience across a wide range of events, from corporate functions and conferences to festivals, live music, brand activations and large-scale productions.
Based in Guildford, Surrey, we support clients across Surrey, Hampshire, London and the wider UK. We provide event production, event operations, stage hire, lighting, sound, audio visual hire, set and branding, and wider event infrastructure support.
For me, the detail matters. A lot of the most important work happens before anyone arrives on site — logistics, planning, preparation, supplier coordination, technical checks and making sure everything is ready to run smoothly.
I also believe in being honest with clients. If someone asks for something they do not need, I will say so. I would rather provide the right solution than sell unnecessary products or services. That approach has helped us build trust with venues, councils, charities, suppliers and event teams across the industry.
